This LUT pack contains 270 LUTs for infrared images and video! Open up the creative possibilities in processing your infrared media.

It includes 23 color swap treatments for imagery captured with a 515 to 720 nm infrared high-pass filter. Create a true blue sky look, or pick from many alternatives. Each color swap treatment offers 10 different styles. It also includes five monochrome treatments for use with any infrared filter and eight styles for each monochrome treatment.

This LUT pack works with any raw photo or video editor that supports LUTs.

Alternatives: LUTs are not supported by Lightroom. If you use Lightroom or Lightroom Classic, I recommend the Lightroom Infrared Colors Swap Profiles. If you are using ON1 Photo RAW, I recommend the ON1 Photo RAW Infrared Presets.

Installation Instructions

Shooting

  • Use the largest color space and bit depth available for your camera in order to minimize banding.
  • Shoot in raw or log if your camera supports it.
  • For best results, shoot midday in direct sunlight. Skies and foliage will appear darker during early morning or late afternoon.
  • Unless shooting in raw, you should set a custom white balance in your camera before shooting. With non-raw media you will have less control over white balance while editing. Set a custom white balance each time you change your infrared filter or when the lighting conditions change.

Editing

  • Refer to your raw or video editor instructions for installing and using LUTs.
  • To white balance your infrared photo or video, use a white balance picker and select a color neutral subject, such as an 18% gray card, clouds, sideways, pavement, roads, or structure.
  • Some LUTs appear to have similiar colors, but use different techniques for color swapping. If your image has banding, try a different LUT with a similar color profile. The color swap of some LUTs can produce more banding than others.
  • After applying a LUT, use your editor’s tools to avoid clipping.
